Summer craziness

Jon and I haven't been up to too much but we did go into the city the past two sundays and had tons of fun. Jon likes business stuff so we went down to that part of town to see wall st. and some really cool old churches. One church has been there since the beginning... it survived two fires and the fall of the twin towers. It also is the site where alexander hamilton is buried. Unfortunately there are no pics of this since one of jons reps pushed him in a pool with is phone and they all got erased because the phone is dead. To make matters worse Jon had to use my phone for three days while I tried to figure out a way to get him another dang iphone. I didn't want to wait in line but thats what we ended up doing. Anyways, all is good now. This past sunday we went to the south ferry pier where they had miniture boat displays and soccer competitions. It was really cool. They also have huge sail boats stationed there as well. I do have pictures of that but not on the computer yet so those we be posted later. Other than that not much is going on with us. Jon found out he will be managing extended season in D.C., so we will be going back to that great city for the month of september. I will be out there for a little bit with him but will head home earlier than him to get things finished with our house like the yard and fence ect. I want to get the grass in before it becomes to cold. Hope everyone is well.

Visit from my wonderful Mom!

My mom came to visit me this past week and I had so much fun. We went all around the city on subways looking at all the different sites:

-Ferry to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
-Serendipity
-Dylans Candy Bar
-Bike ride through central park
-all sorts of neat museums
-Broadway in time square "Wicked". It was amazing. Great songs too.
-Yummy places we ate
-Movie five floors up in time square
-much more

My mom was such a trooper because I thought I knew the subways well enough, but somehow I got us lost and we went to Queens instead of going back up north towards the Bronx. Bad thing is I made this same mistake with my friends a few weeks earlier. I have definately learned my lesson now!!!! Anyways, it was such a joy to have my mom visit. I had so much fun. We went to central park again the day she left to have a picnic and it was so relaxing. Jon said " we will have to do this again". Anyways, hope all is well. Miss you all.

Fourth of July in New York!

We had a fun BBQ for the fourth. We got together with mostly everone in our office. The boys got off early so they could come enjoy the BBQ and fireworks with us. We didn't brave the crowds in downtown new york but we did get to watch from across the Hudson. They were beautiful. After that we went to watch a movie. I love the fourth of July and I love making patriotic treats so I made some cupcakes with little fruit flags on the top and they were a big hit.

An eventful Week in Arizona and a week in California with Family!

I was lucky to go visit my family for a couple weeks. I spent a week in Arizona with them and a week in California. We did so much. I got there sunday and was able to celebrate Fathers Day and my moms birthday with them( even though her birthday was really Tuesday). On Tuesday my dad and I put up these cute signs with pictures of my moms head on funny bodies all around the neighborhood anouncing her special day. On Tuesday my brother Kyle also got home from his mission in Ecaudor. We hardly recognized him with his hat on and glasses. It was quite the reunion with funny stories and visiting. We were all together for the first time in two years. It was awesome having my whole family together again. Unfortunately Jon was the only missing one due to work. I know he would have loved to be there and everyone missed him. We had BBQ's, swam in the pool, and played games. Michael and Amber had us over for homemade butterfinger Ice cream and it was delicious. I was able to visit with my best friend Jade as well.
A couple days after kyle got home we left to Newport Beach Calfornia. We had such a blast playing in the sand, boogie boarding, playing games, going to the board walk, and visiting. We went to Knotts Berry Farm and had fun riding the rides there as well. We went to see the Newport Temple and it was so beautiful. I was able to visit two of my very good friends Brittany, and Corrine. They both live near Newport ( those lucky girls) and they came and picked me up. We went to eat at my favorite pizza place BJ's in Balboa and celebrated brittany's birthday. We loved catching up because we don't get to see eachother much anymore. Brittany also took me to get Sprinkles Cupcakes for us and my family. They were to die for. Sadly our trip came to an end. We had so much fun. Thanks mom and dad for such great trip and memories.
When we got home I got to stay for Kyles Homecoming talk. He did a great job. My plane left shortly after so I had to tell everyone goodbye. I miss them but I was glad to come home to my husband as well. Hopefully he will be able to come on the next trip!

CALIFORNIA PICS

Pool Party ,Yankees's game, Romanian Restaurant

We got our office together and had a pool party and ate pizza. (mmm my favorite). Unfortunately it was an overcast day so most of the wives just watched as the boys played pool games. A couple days later a few of us wives got together and went to a Yankee's game. It was quite the experiance however NY was having it's first heat wave of the summer and it was extremely hot.
Jon wanted to take me to a romanian restaurant because that is where he served his mission. We found one in Queens and it was interesting. Jon loves to be able to speak the language and he loves the culture. Romanian restaurants always have a singer, dance floor, and a lady who brings around roses so Jon got some for me. I love fresh flowers so I was excited. We also went and walked along Coney Island and the beach. There was such a nice breeze. I forgot my camera for all of this so I will have to bring it another time we go. Coney Island is featured in many movies so I bet they could giv you a better picture of what it looks like anyway.
I am so excited because my brother Kyle comes home from his mission on Tuesday the seventeenth. I can't believe it has been two years. I get to go home and visit my family and we are also going to Newport Beach for a week so I am so excited. I will however miss my sweet, hardworking, husband. If I want him to go on a vacation I have to do it at other times of the year because of his job.

G- Gas or Diesel? I would say gas but for some reason even though diesel is more expensive, Jon says that it is better in the long run and would like to get a diesel truck some day. I would have to disagree(:
H- Hobbies? Jon is a busy body, he likes to do almost everything but mostly he loves any sports(Hockey), business ideas, inventing, and dirt biking.

Random!!!!!!

When I posted our Cancun pictures back in January I just realized I didn't put any underwater pictures on there. Jons parents have great under water camera's so we got wonderful shots of all the sea life. Scuba Diving was a amazing and we saw turtles, all sorts of cool fish, eels, and more. It is so relaxing under the water (especially when I got my breathing down). I know this is kinda random but I am going to post the pictures now....WEll some of them....there were so many!

More of the City!!!!

Everyone might be getting tired of the city pictures but I just can't get enough of it. I am amazed everytime I am there. This past week Michael and Amber were here with The Adair family. They were kind enough to let me tag along and it was a blast. I loved getting to see little baby Rex. He is adorable and such a great baby. We went up on top of the Rockefellar center. It was cool and i got lots of good shots of the city, central park, and empire state building. We then went to the famous Seredipity and had lunch and their dessert. Their dessert is why everyone goes and it is wonderful. One dessert feeds like four people.We then went to the largest, coolest candy store called Dylans candy bar. There was candy in the floors and candy everywhere. After that we took a tour of the city and went to see the statue of Liberty. It was such a fun day and I am glad I got to be with family for once. My only regret is that Michael and I didn't get Dunkin Donuts. Those are his and my favorite. Breakfast and Costco!

Jon and I needed to have a date together and since he never gets home until late we decided to go to breakfast. We foun this cute little pancake house near by and it was delicious. I had an omlette and jon had apple pancakes. As you can see by the pics they were enormous. We will share next time for sure. They had fresh squeezed orange juice as well. If anyone wants to know where it's at I can tell you.
After that Jon went to work so me and some girls went tocostco to get groceries. Here is a pic of my friends Shadolyn and Dani with our cart. People here probably think we are weird. oh well(:

My cute dogs and Rockefellar Center!

Hey everyone. I was getting ready one day and I came out to find my cute dogs snuggled up together taking a nap. They looked so adorable so I had to take a picture. They love to play together and Maverick loves to bug cooper when they are running outside. Jon took them to the park yesterday and was letting them go down the slide. I think the dogs thought Jon was crazy but he had fun.
Some of the girls and I went into the city to get lunch and to see Rockefellar Center and the empire state building. It is always fun to walk around New York because there is so much to see and you meet such interesting people. There are always groups of kids dancing and doing amazing things that I didn't think was possible with their bodies. I saw some huge billboards that said the power of platinum that I thought were cool since that's the name of the company Jon works for. He thought they were pretty neat. Anyway's it looks like everyone is having a nice fun summer so far so keep your blogs updated. I am so excited because my brother michael, his wife amber, and their cute new little boy Rex are coming to visit this week. I can't wait.

Central Park!

On Thursday my friend Deborah had a birthday so we celebrated with her after her work with Cupcakes and ice cream. Zoie loves playing with the dogs and they love playing with her. When they get close to her she squints her eyes and turns away. It is so cute.
On Sunday we had a great lesson at church. It was given in spanish so we had to listen with earphones to the translator. I never thought I would have to do that but it was cool and Patricia gave a really good lesson on prayer. Our branch had a linger longer after church to get to know all of us. It was so nice of them. After that Jon and I decided to go to the city with some friends and to bring our dogs with. We thought it would be nice to go have a picnic in central park and to walk through it. Little did I know how big and how long it takes to walk through that place. Luckily it is beautiful every step of the way. The Met and some other museums line the park but we were to late, they had already closed. Anyways it is so neat walking through the park and seeing the beautiful city rising up behind it.

I am a Dental Hygienist!

Well I just have to let everyone know that I passed all of my tests. I am so excited and can't wait to start working. This was what I have always wanted to do and I can't believe I am already done. Thanks to my husband, my friends( you know who you are), and my family for all your love and support.

City Girls!

Well a few of the wives and I were brave and decided to go into the city to do some exploring. We took the bus to the subway station and rode the subways the rest of the way in. For a bunch of westerners it was quite the task but it was so much fun. We went to Central Park and looked around. There we saw this group of boys telling us to circle around them so they could show us there moves. They were really good. I was quite impressed. It takes some muscles to go into some of those postions. Next we ate lunch in Time Square and looked around at which broadways we wanted to go see. Then we went down to Canal street " China Town" where some of the girls bartered for purses. They have some cute things down there for cheap. After that we went to the Soho neighbor hood where we saw the best stores everywhere. One of the girls we were with has a design internship there so we stopped by her work. That was that trip. Yesterday we went into the city again taking a much quicker route( which made us all happier). I really have been wanting to try the ever talked about Pink Berry so we went there first and I must say it was delicious. You wouldn't think just plain yogurt could be so good. And it is healthy which makes it even better. Then we went shopping in the Soho district which was awesome bc there is every store you would want there. Anyways, NY is an amazing and diverse city and it is awesome. There are also pics of my two cute Dogs Cooper and Maverick( at least that is what we are calling him for now.) Jon is working hard as usual and he is doing great!
