December 2020

December was different this year but different in a good way! Due to COVID the kids had to go back to online school at home. This brought its challenges and the kids had to miss their end of the year Christmas parties, book fair, and school assemblies at school. However we got to spend more time together and focused on the true meaning of Christmas and our good health even more! We luckily still had our ward Christmas breakfast where Santa came for a visit, our wonderful neighbors still dropped off Christmas presents and got creative. We celebrated my 36th birthday! I feel more grateful every year for my health, family, and friends! They made me feel so loved and appreciated. Our neighbors the Peterson’s had is over for fun evening with Santa and hay rides. We got to celebrate Baileys 10th birthday. She had a pizza and hot tub party with friends and then watched and new movie about horses. We also took her to dinner another night to oreganos and got the famous pizza cookie in downtown Gilbert! We love the energy Bailey brings to our family! She is creative, energetic, athletic, and beautiful! She is a star on her soccer team. She loves horses still and she enjoys being outside! We sure are grateful she is a part of our family! The rest of December we handed out neighbor gifts, wrapped presents, caroled, looked at lights, and enjoyed lots of time together celebrating with friends and family for Christmas! Christmas morning is getting a little different as the kids get older and there are less and less toys and more clothes and gadgets. Santa is having to get creative but the kids all was seem so gracious and grateful for anything and everything they get. We are grateful for the time to focus on the giving part as well and we love celebrating the birth of our savior Jesus Christ! He is the reason for the season and I couldn’t be more grateful for the life he led and the example he set! It is humbling to know how his life developed and the ultimate sacrifice he made for us! After Christmas we enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing with new things, watching movies, going on bike rides, going on an adult date night with my siblings, and to top it all off a visit from my best friend from  college Brittany came to visit for four days with her husband and new baby girl Parker! We soaked up our time with them and we got to enjoy some like time even if it was a little chilly! It was so fun also going on a hike to the hieroglyphic trails and eating good food! To end the year with a bang we gathered with all our favorite friends and had a party complete with games, music, food, and fireworks! We had a weird year and yet it drove us to count our blessings and notice more around us! I am so very grateful for my village of people that care for us and inspire us!
