seven months and lots of firsts!

Well the month of September has flown by just like the rest of the year. Bentley is learning new things with each day it seems like. I wish I could figure out how to put his videos on here. They are quite entertaining. He crawls all around now except he doesn't use his knees, he just pulls himself like a slinky. He would rather be standing than on the ground crawling. He can balance himself standing for a few seconds now. He will play for hours in his exersaucer and also up next to the ottoman. He loves watching Cooper and Maverick play and he loves to feed them from his chair. Bentley has got a good handle on feeding himself puff cereal and Nutri Grain bars. He loves both fruit and vegetables! Bentley loves when grandma Curtis watches him. He will giggle and giggle when anyone plays with him but especially when Heidi or Collin come up to him. I love to hear him laugh and his smile just melts me. When I nurse him he is so precious and loves to run his fingers through my hair or play with a soft blanket. He went to Build a Bear for the first time when cousin Belle and Chad were in town. My mom took them and we all had such a great time! Bentley loves stuffed animals and my mom put a recording of her voice in the dog as well. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I look at the video monitor and Bentley will just be playing away with his stuffed animals in his crib. Something kind of funny about Bentley but sad when we see him cry is when we get a new garbage bag out to put in the trash for some reason he freaks out and starts crying hysterically. It is the weirdest thing because it doesn't matter how soft you do it as soon as he sees that bag he is in tears. He is such a good boy though and we are so lucky to have him.

This is what Bentley does when he wakes up. He will cry and pull down his bumper so that he can try to find us. It is so adorable and I love when he spots us.... He will get a huge grin on his face.

Bentley's first Diamond Backs game. He loved it and was so good the whole time. We sat right down by third base and the players dugout. My mom and Collin were there with us as well and we had a great time.

Bentley's first time sitting up in his bath and playing with his toys. Look at that cute little bum.

Bentley wearing a cute hat when we were at Babies R Us.

First time wearing a bow tie. How cute!

Bentley wearing his dads favorite bib... The Oilers! He likes to feed himself as much as I will let him.

First time riding the saddle at Texas Roadhouse! Yee hahhhh

Going after Brookes phone. Why is it that all kids love those things.

Bentley and I with cousin Brooke! We made delicious cookies that day.

Look at that fuzzy little hair coming in.

Me and my little angel.

He loves to stand up against the ottoman and play with toys or electronics left there like the remote control or cell phones.

Bentley is such a stud!

My two handsome boys before church. I love to see them in their white shirts together.

Bentley likes to "help" me with the laundry. Usually this requires some things to be folded over and over again (:

Isn't this such a fun age!!! I am so entertained and amazed my the new things they learn each day! Thats cute that Bentley loves to stand up everywhere...not Parker he likes to army crawl everywhere and is so fast since he's been doing it since the beginning of August. His newest trick is to sit himself up by himself from his stomach! I can't believe it's already time to start baby proofing our house! And about the garbage bags... that is too funny! We miss you guys and would love to see you soon!

HI Christi,
It was good to hear from you and visit your blog. What a darling baby! I have to tell you my son Jace would do the exact same thing when I changed the trash bag!! They vacuum or other loud things didn't bother him, but he hated the trash bags-funny.
About your question. Spencer's third grade teacher suggested that I take him to the school districts Speech and hearing therapist to be tested for CAPD. She had had experience with it with a previous student. This was a free service. They had specific tests to test for it over two sessions.
After the diagnosis was made, the therapists met with us and his school and resource teacher to discuss how we could all help him. For example sitting up close to where the teacher gives directions, Giving him clear directions etc.
When Spencer was preschool age we thought it was so cute when we spoke to him or gave him instructions and he would get a funny look on his face. We now look back and think it might have been him trying to process what he had heard.
I hope this could help your brother. It is always so frustrating to not know how to help your child.
I gather you have moved to Arizona. I bet it is great to be closer to your family. and good luck with your own little family. There is nothing better!!
Love, Kris Kelly
