July was a busy and adventurous month! We had fun celebrating the fourth at my parents with a bbq and fireworks. A few days later we left to Montana. We each drove so Jon could pull the boat up. I wasn’t happy about driving separately but it went surprisingly well. We drove to Utah where we got to see our old home and eat pizza at our favorite Two Jacks. Then we drove through Idaho and finally late that night crashed somewhere in Montana for the night. The beauty we saw along the way was a treat and so welcomed. We woke up that morning to rain and beautiful mountains. We finished our drive through Montana the next day but took a scenic route where we got to see all sorts of farms, mountains, trees, animals, and lakes. It was almost like taking a step back in time. We went into town for some groceries and to get dinner then headed to the lake house where we would be staying. When we got to our destinations we settle in quick and headed out in the lake for a night surf. The rest of the week was spent with lots of lake time learning to wake surf, wake board, and ski. We also enjoyed kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding, fishing, and searching for turtles. The week there on the lake was truly magical and we made so many fun memories! The next week we stayed in a fun ranch house surrounded by farms and animals of every kind. We spent some time at the lake and the rest exploring and going on hikes! I was so impressed with the kids and there ability to go in some long hikes without complaining. We watched out for bears and luckily didn’t run into any but we did get to see deer, mountain goat, and big horned sheep up close in their habitat. Another fun surprise was finding snow and playing in it. We thought two weeks was enough time being away from home so we said goodbye to our dreamy vacation and headed home. As if driving two days with two cars, five kids, and a boat wasn’t enough stress.... Jon decided we need a new puppy and so when we got home we unpacked and slept. However, the next morning Jon took off early to fly to California a d buy our family a new teacup maltipoo puppy. He is so tiny and only weighed 1.5 lbs when Jon brought him home. He is such a fun addition to our family and although he is a lot of work we would not have it any other way.
