Bentley the big boy

Bentley is now 32 months. Almost 3:) He likes to think he is a big boy now which kind of makes me sad. He still has to hit a few more tasks to be considered a real big boy, so I guess I still have some time. I love this Bentley boy so much and when he snuggles with me I call him Benter-loo. Just a little pet name when he is being extra sweet and cuddly. He loves wrestling with his bigger cousins. As soon as he sees his cousin Tate, he thinks it's time to wrestle! He loves to play outside. Luckily my mom has a fun backyard and they are close! He will play outside for hours. He loves to swing, jump on the trampoline, swim, play in the sand, ride bikes around, play with his cars on the picnic table(a favorite). He also has recently started begging me to play the wii with him or to play games on my phone. The latter two I don't love but still have fun racing him in mario kart:) He is a sweet boy but has a strong opinion lately on what he wants to do for the day or what he wants to eat. This has made things a little more difficult and we've had more tantrums and time outs than I would like. Hopefully it is just a phase. He is deathly afraid of the toilet and I have tried many different techniques to get him interested. I think I will just wait until he is ready so I don't push him. On that note, we did have one day where out of no where Bentley asked to put on his big boy underwear. I was shocked! Jon put them on and unfortunately I was on my way out the door to the mall to get something to eat with my mom and return something. I didn't want to make him take the undies off so I just took him without a diaper to the mall. I knew there would be an accident and just planned on it. After being at the mall for an hour I took him to the bathroom and tried to get him to go. Nothing came so I gave up and walked him back to the food court. As soon as we sat back down he starts going "uh oh uh oh"! Yep, he waited to go until we sat back down. After a tedious clean up and explanation to Bentley why he could not keep the underwear on, we went back to get my mom and Bailey had dumped Bentley's full strawberry milkshake all over her. Fun times! Anyway, Bentley is such a smart little boy. He loves to read and color letters, and he also loves to count. Where ever we are he will point out letters or numbers to me. I love to hear him in the back of the car saying" T, L,N" its so cute. He can count to ten by himself and he loves to read books. He is tall and skinny as can be. I love my little guy!

Bailey is 9 months old now!

Wow it has been awhile since I've updated. Time to play catch up. Bailey flew through her 8 month and is now 9 months old. She is such a sweetheart to have around and a joy to be with. Although I don't know if Bentley would agree:) She follows his every move and tries to play with all the toys he currently likes. She usually wins the fight and Bentley will come to me tattling that Bailey is bothering him. Ohhhhhh children! Bailey weighs 18 lbs, is 24 in tall, and she has two teeth. I feel like she has been teething for two months but still no sign of any other teeth. She has beautiful thick brown hair and the cutest little body that cruises around all day long. We had to get a gate for the stairs because she was climbing up them every chance she could get. She will bump something with her head like your leg or a chair to get it to move out of her path. She loves to climb over and up things. This is new to me because Bentley was not a getter into, but Bailey on the other hand is always up to something. She loves to do anything the big kids or adults do and doesn't seem to care for a toy unless Bentley is playing with it. She still has the biggest smile that will light up any room. She loves to show us new things she has learned and gets the cutest face when she is proud of herself and we clap for her. She is trying to take steps and is balancing quite well. We might just have a walking girl by halloween! She loves going for walks and riding in the wagon. Bailey loves her daddy and loves it when he tosses her high up in the air or tickles her. She loves real food and will not eat baby food. Some times I have to get creative with what I feed her. I can't believe how fast babies grow but it seems as though Bailey is on the fast track even more to grow up. Her little personality is stubborn, silly, cuddly, curious, and sweet.

Friends!

We had some friends over the other day and we are sad we haven't done it more often. I had fun catching up with my friends talking about jobs, working out, husbands:), food, kids, moving, pregnancies, ect. All the little boys plus Bailey had a blast playing together. We had Tia Rosa's Mexican food for dinner with chips and Salsa. For dessert I made chocolate-peanut butter bars, and fruit pizza. It was funny that Bailey was the only girl but Adell will bring a play mate for her soon in October. I am so glad everyone was able to come and we missed those who couldn't:(

Rachel's boy Parker. He had so much fun and didn't want to leave. He hid under the table and his mom had to coax him out. so cute!

Bailey busy playing away
Adell's boy Roan. He was such a good boy and sat there and played with one of Bentley's toy skateboards for quite awhile.
Kristen's boy Wes. He is adorable. Poor kid is just a little younger than the other boys and kept getting picked on. He handled it like a champ though.
Christy and her boy Mason. The newest little one and he was so good the whole time. He is such a sweetheart.
Bailey's new thing is going after people's toes and shoes. It grosses me out because a couple times I've found her chewing on the shoes. kids will be kids
Some of the girls visiting and eating their yummy Tia Rosa's. L to R (Jade, Courtney, Kristen, Wes, Adell, and Christy.)
Roan loved Bentley's Bouncing horse.
Bentley running around pushing his trucks!
The two trouble makers Bentley and Courtney's boy Dean. The kids would go up stairs and then come back down crying. Dean and Bentley never seemed to know what happened:)
They wrestled, pushed trucks, built towers, shot hoops, and watched movies.
Bentley's stink face. He didn't want me to take his picture.

Farewell Elder Tyler Curtis!

My brother Tyler was called to the Melbourne, Australia mission and left to the MTC this morning. I am so proud of him that he has chosen to dedicate the next two years of his life to sharing the gospel for our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is so special to all of us and has been such a great help to me and my family. Bentley and Bailey adore Uncle "Tyer" and he will definitely be missed. I am so thankful for the great example he is setting for my family. I do however think he is going to the best mission out there. I have always wanted to visit Australia and think it is such a neat place with such a great culture. I can't wait for pictures! Here are a few pics I took after Tyler was set apart. President Ostler gave Tyler such a neat blessing and visited with the family.

Bailey June! She is so proud of herself now that she can crawl and sit up by herself!

Collin Rubbing Tylers Head for good luck. Tyler is Collins best bud!

Bentley(2 1/2) and Bailey(7mos.)

Bailey is loving being able to army crawl and get to her toys!
Bentley was showing my friend Carli's baby Julianne his horse Lucky
Bentley kept trying to hug Julianne but she kept trying to crawl away. She gave him kisses though so it made up for the playing hard to get. haha
It was so fun having Carli and Julianne over before they moved to California. We will miss them. Both my kids loved playing with Julianne. Every time she would make a sound, Bailey would start laughing and smiling at her.
Bailey loves meal time. She is eating all sorts of foods now.
Bentley likes to tell me over and over when Bailey has spilled.
Love those baby blues!
Her smiles are contagious!
Bentley with his pal Lucky
Bailey freezes when I point the camera at her these days. She loves phones and camera's

Bentley has become quite the character. He loves to learn his ABC's and watch movies.

My two cute kids.
I am trying to teach Bentley to share with Bailey. It is quite the task!

My sweet boy!
